CryptoPunks Two Year Anniversary
A look at the activity and trends over the first two years of the CryptoPunks.
Tomorrow is the two-year anniversary of the CryptoPunks, and because everything is on the blockchain you can verify that date by looking at the contract creation date here. We wanted to take this opportunity to look back and see what's happened over the last 2 years.
First of all, here’s a look at the activity of the market:
May 2019, our most recent complete month, has been our busiest month since January 2018! It’s pretty cool that two years later new people are still discovering the CryptoPunks.
The other big question is how the value of the punks have changed over time, especially as the price of Ether has fluctuated dramatically. To answer that question, here’s the median price in USD:
Early 2018 was the peak, since Ether was at an all time high, but the trend in 2019 (through some of the lowest ETH prices in recent memory) is pretty obvious and dramatic.
We’re so happy to see the CryptoPunks still going strong two years after their introduction. We can’t wait to see what happens in year three and beyond!
